I watch the 24/7 Transformers channel and I have Opinions
(skip the background and show me these takes)
The 24/7 Transformers channel on our TV plays a random set of episodes from the different Transformers TV shows (Original Series (G1), Beast Wars, Beast Machines, Transformers: Cybertron, Transformers: Prime, and Transformers: Robots in Disguise) around the clock. It's my current go-to "I need background noise at all times in order to function" of choice, but…that doesn't mean I don't have Opinions about these episodes.
Now, before you get the impression that that means I know a lot about Transformers, some background: I grew up with Beast Wars and Beast Machines as my primary Transformers content and until a couple years ago, I had watched the first couple Michael Bay movies and that was it (I didn't even have any of the toys as a kid ;-;). Since then I've seen 3 episodes of War for Cybertron: Kingdom (which took me way too long to look up/remember), Rise of the Beasts (very surprising for a Beast Wars fan I know), and Transformers One. So I basically went into this only familiar Beast Era lore and, y'know, the existence of Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Bumblebee. My spouse is several years older than me and so he grew up with bits and pieces of G1 reruns, so a lot of times he's able to give me some additional context on some of the lore that isn't always clear, which is helpful. But I still miss a lot of nuance; in some cases that makes it more fun (in the sense that I will be confused and the confusion may be funny).
